What is Chair Yoga?
Chair Yoga adapts a wide-range of traditional mat-based poses to the chair, giving you a variety of options on how to move your arms, torso, and lower body ensuring that you can always adapt each pose to your own personal needs. This includes accounting for varying degrees of flexibility in your upper and lower body as well as in the right and left sides of your body.
The chair replaces the yoga mat and becomes an extension of your body, allowing you to take full advantage of yoga’s amazing health and fitness benefits:
-
Helps ease physical pain
-
Helps manage stress
-
Helps prevent injury
-
Improves strength, balance and flexibility
-
Improves sleep
-
Promotes better self-care
-
Improves confidence in movement
And, once a month we have tea, coffee and cake together after class – an opportunity to have a chat and get to know each other.
